About Hong Kong House
Situated in the Retford, Nottinghamshire neighbourhood.
Hong Kong House is a cosy Chinese restaurant. We serve authentic oriental plates, dessert and wine. Chinese dining etiquette is about sharing, not only food, but sharing the atmosphere, sharing a nice conversation, and most importantly sharing time together.
We hope that our restaurant will become a piece of pleasant memory for our customers, that is something money can not buy .

Shocking we ordered over 3 hours before ON THE PHONE and they didn't even do the order! Shocking we had to find somewhere else and most places where full extremely disappointed! *** update they now claim I have not even called given I call was awnsered with new hobg king house I have not got the wrong number. I do not lie I pre ordered and you still did not deliver even worse service by denying it!

Disappointed been waiting a while for our order and it’s turned up just warm, normally there’s no problems but this time was just disappointing, was really looking forward to tea 😔

Spent many years passing this establishment and finally decided to call in. Although there was no customers in the restaurant,only been open 10 minutes ,they weren't sure if they could fit is in. We were shown to a table and our order was taken, the staff explained that they were extremely busy and kept apologising. The kitchen was going flat out and lots of customers kept arriving for their takeaway orders. Our food arrived, spare ribs were to die for, and it immediately became obvious why they were so busy, the food was divine. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant for either dine in or dine out.

Lovely food but 5 out of 9 orders habe been wrong and its allways when ordering qith the chinese women 5 orders in a row she messed up

Had a fabulous birthday meal with 10 friends the food was absolutely first class and such a wonderful variety the service too was great Highly recommended 5*

Take away is always on point ...very consistent....had a complementary beer on the house...Nice touch while waiting for my order .

Just had a refreshing of the decor, looks great. Staff friendly and helpful. Service above and beyond. Still our favourite restaurant in Retford.

In the past I have ordered Salt n Pepper brunch box 3 or 4 times and have been very pleased with it, I ordered it again last night and I was so disappointed and so was my partner, if you like chips you would love it, the box consisted of chips, chips and more chips, the spare ribs was exactly that ribs no meat just bone and the rest of the food was hidden by more chip the chow mein was nice

Absolutely shocking delivery , ordered food at 5.15pm still waiting at 6.50pm nearly 2 hours after ringing its out for delivery , lies lies

I've not long moved to retford, and to try some Chinese food for the first time on new years eve at Hong Kong House was amazing, really nice food, and the lady at the counter was lovely 😊😊

I really enjoy the food and must say that the staff are very welcoming. It lost a star because at the moment it only accepts cash.

Wow owner is a really nice guy. Im working near here and wanted a meal. The owner Jimmy made one special during lunch time though he opens at 5pm. The Singapore was very very nice. Thank you Jimmy. 10 out of 10 for the effort and food 😉

This is the Chinese Takeaway we always use. The food is always great tasting and hot when delivered and when we pick it up the lady on the front desk is always very polite and helpful. Sometimes Jimmy will come out from the back to and I always enjoy a chat with him. Not overly expensive either. Would recommend.

Excellent home cooking done by the owner. Some days Mon / Wed and maybe more they do an all you can eat cooked as you wish it and there are a lot of very tasty possibilities on the menu. Very reasonably priced and good beer and wine to wash it down. Friendly service in a homely atmosphere. Not the Ritz but very clean and tidy.Highly recommended.
